Find hair extensions with the wave, curl or smooth finish that feels at home with your hair.
To choose a hair extension texture, start with the way you wear your own hair most days. Compare the pattern, fullness and ends, then confirm the exact Bohyme collection, length and construction with your stylist. We create a range of textures to give you more ways to build a blend that feels like you.
Start with the hair you wear every day
Bring the inspiration photograph—and a clear view of your own hair. Photographs of the back, sides and ends, taken without a filter, help your stylist see the finish you want to blend with. Tell them whether you usually air-dry, diffuse, blow-dry or straighten your hair.
If keeping your natural waves or curls matters to you, make that part of the conversation from the start. Your stylist can compare suitable textured hair extensions alongside your hair and plan the shaping and care that bring the look together.
The right texture is a starting point for a beautiful blend. Your cut, placement, color and routine help complete it.
Look at the whole pattern
Look beyond a single curl. Notice how the bends repeat, where the volume sits, how the strands separate and how the ends fall. A full-length view shows the silhouette; a close-up reveals the definition.
Compare Silky Straight, Body Wave and Natural Curl as different starting points for your everyday finish. Then use our Style & Texture Comparison to explore more of the range.

Our photographs show styled examples. Color, length and styling differ, so use them to begin the conversation and confirm the exact collection and product with your stylist. A Bohyme texture name is not a one-to-one match for a natural curl-type label.
Get to know the texture before you choose
Our texture guides bring the photographs and product details together, helping you explore what makes each finish distinctive.
- Brazilian Wave: explore the curly silhouette from more than one angle.
- Body Wave: take a closer look at its movement, styling and care.
- Ethos French Refined: compare its definition with the other Ethos textures and the Luxe version.
The collection is part of the texture
French Refined is a useful example. Our Luxe version has a more open, looser wave. Ethos French Refined has a more defined, tousled pattern. Within Ethos, it sits between the more relaxed Blended Wave and the tighter Blended Curl.
That is why we recommend choosing the collection alongside the texture name. Explore the French Refined collection and Ethos Hand-Tied French Refined, then review the photographs and movement comparison in our French Refined guide.
Bring your everyday finish into the consultation
For example, if you air-dry your hair and want to keep its wave, bring a photograph of it fully dry in that finish. Compare the mid-lengths and ends with your stylist before discussing color and length. If you prefer more definition, use that preference to narrow the options together.
Choose the length and texture together
The shape of a wave or curl affects where the ends appear to fall. Use our Hair Length Guide and ask how your selected product is measured. A listed length alone will not show you the finished silhouette.
Tell your stylist where you would like the ends to sit and how full you want them to look. Discuss the shaping and amount of hair needed before ordering, especially when adding length to a shorter or fuller haircut.
Your texture-matching checklist
- Your usual finish: bring clear photographs and explain your styling routine.
- Collection and texture: compare the exact product imagery, not the texture name alone.
- Length and shape: agree on the visible length, fullness and finishing cut.
- Construction and shade: confirm the installation method and check the Bohyme Color Chart.
- Quantity: check the selected product's pack weight and contents, then have your stylist calculate the order.
- Care: agree on detangling, washing, drying and maintenance before installation.
Our Weft Availability Chart helps you explore weft combinations. Confirm the current length, shade and pack details on your chosen product page. Pack contents vary by product, so there is no single pack count for every full-head installation.
Review our Hair Care Guide with your stylist so your new texture fits the time you want to spend on your hair. If the construction needs custom sectioning, confirm the cutting guidance for that specific weft before installation.
Your texture questions, answered.
How do I choose hair extensions for my natural texture?
Start with your hair in the finish you wear most often. Compare the pattern, fullness and ends with the exact Bohyme product, then ask your stylist to assess the blend and installation.
Do I need to straighten my hair to wear extensions?
Not necessarily. Ask your stylist whether a compatible texture and installation can work with your usual waves, curls or smooth finish, and what care that combination will need.
Is French Refined the same in Ethos and Luxe?
No. Luxe French Refined has a more open, looser wave. Ethos French Refined has a more defined, tousled pattern. Compare the collection-specific images before choosing.
How many packs of textured hair extensions do I need?
Your starting hair, desired length and fullness, installation method and the selected product's pack contents all affect the quantity. Have your stylist calculate the order using the current product details.
Will a texture match be maintenance-free?
No. Your own hair, extension hair and attachment points still need an appropriate care routine. Review washing, detangling, drying and maintenance with your stylist before installation.
