What Is French Refined Hair? Bohyme Texture Series No. 04

Bohyme Texture Series · No. 04

Let the texture
lead the way.

Soft definition. Expressive movement. A closer study of French Refined—and the freedom to build a look around the texture you want to wear.

What is French Refined hair?

Bohyme French Refined is a textured human hair extension family with wave and curl definition that varies by collection and styling. Its character is movement: visible bends, separation, and a finish that invites a closer look. Begin with the French Refined collection, then choose the version that suits the intended blend.

Texture Series No. 04 studies the pattern through full-length views, close-ups, and a side-by-side portrait. The consultation considers both how much hair to add and how those lengths will move beside your own.

Your natural texture deserves
a place in the plan.

If you prefer wearing your own waves or curls, the extension consultation can begin there. You do not have to make straight hair the default reference for length and volume. Start with the movement you already have—and the finish you actually enjoy maintaining.

A compatible extension pattern may reduce the amount of reshaping needed to make the two textures sit together. That does not make every French Refined option an automatic match for every curl pattern. Compare your hair in its usual finish, paying attention to the mid-lengths, ends, fullness, and the way it settles after drying.

Bring the everyday version of your hair. Share a photo of your usual air-dried or styled texture, your desired length, and how much styling time you want to spend. Ask your stylist to assess the match before planning the installation.

French Refined is a family.
The collection matters.

Each collection brings its own expression of the pattern. Bohyme’s Ethos French Refined guide describes Luxe French Refined as a more open wave and Ethos French Refined as a more defined, tousled pattern. Within Ethos, French Refined sits between Blended Wave and Blended Curl.

For the newer option, explore Ethos Hand-Tied French Refined. It is offered in 18-inch and 22-inch lengths. Ethos and Luxe use 100% Remi® Virgin Human Hair; Classic uses Remi® Human Hair. Confirm the collection, construction, shade, and length on the selected product page.

French Refined or Ocean Breeze?

One texture. Your direction.

Wear the definition you enjoy. Talk with your stylist about air drying, diffusing, or changing the finish with heat, and how each approach fits the chosen collection and your natural hair. Choose the direction that feels like you.

Choose a finish and a care routine together. Follow the guidance for your specific hair and installation.

Texture still needs care. Plan detangling, washing, drying, and nighttime maintenance with your stylist rather than treating a textured installation as maintenance-free. Follow the Bohyme hair care guide and your installer’s instructions. When using heat, use an appropriate protectant and the lowest effective setting.

Your French Refined questions.

Can French Refined extensions blend with natural waves or curls?

They may be suitable when the chosen collection and finish complement your natural pattern. Have a stylist compare the textures in the way you usually wear your hair before choosing an installation.

Is French Refined the same as Ocean Breeze?

No. They are separate Bohyme textures. The comparison portrait shows greater definition in the French Refined look and broader waves in the Ocean Breeze look.

Is Ethos French Refined the same as Luxe French Refined?

No. Luxe has a more open wave; Ethos is more defined and tousled. Review the collection-specific imagery and product details.

Do I need to straighten my natural hair first?

Straightening is not the goal of a texture-matching consultation. Ask your stylist whether an extension pattern can complement your usual finish and what preparation the selected installation requires.

Does a texture match remove the need for styling or care?

No. A compatible pattern can support the look you want, but your natural hair, extensions, and installation still need an appropriate routine.
