The Weft Lab · Bohyme® Education
Cuttable precision. Flat construction. High-density impact.
Bohyme Genius Weft is a professional, cuttable weft designed for precise sizing without the folded-over return hair found in traditional hand-tied construction. Its thin profile and high density make it a strong option when customization, coverage and fullness lead the service plan.
A Genius Weft is a thin, flat, high-density hair-extension weft that can be trimmed to a custom width and has no folded-over return hair. Bohyme currently offers Genius Weft in Luxe and Ethos Silky Straight options. Luxe and Ethos have different published dimensions, lengths and color availability, so the exact listing—not the category name alone—should guide product selection.
Construction
Designed to be sized for the placement plan.
Traditional hand-tied wefts are sewn onto a continuous thread and should not be cut because the construction can unravel. Bohyme Genius Weft is designed to be trimmed to a custom size, allowing the stylist to map each section to the head shape and intended row.
The top seam is narrow, flat and flexible. With no folded-over hair at the seam, there are no short return hairs created by folding the extension hair back over the weft.
Product Intelligence
Four features that define Genius Weft
1. Cuttable construction
The weft can be trimmed to the width required by the placement plan. That creates more control around curves, shorter sections and individualized row design.
2. No return hair
Genius Weft has no folded-over hair at the top seam. This reduces the short return hairs associated with a traditional folded weft, although comfort still depends on correct placement and tension.
3. High density
Bohyme classifies Genius Weft as high density. It can create substantial fullness without requiring the wider seam of a traditional machine-tied weft.
4. Thin, flat profile
Its narrow seam is intended to sit discreetly within a professional row. Visibility depends on the client’s density, row placement, extension weight and home care.

Consultation Fit
Who may be a strong Genius Weft candidate?
Client priorities
- Noticeable fullness and length from a high-density weft.
- A thin, flat seam within a professionally mapped row.
- A weft that can be sized around the individual head shape.
- Silky Straight movement with a polished finish.
Stylist priorities
- Cut-to-width control during row planning.
- High density without a traditional machine-tied seam profile.
- The option to pair Genius with lighter-density Hand-Tied rows.
- Access to distinct Luxe and Ethos color directions.
Suitability cannot be determined by hair type alone. The stylist should evaluate natural-hair density, scalp condition, desired result, extension weight, row placement, lifestyle and maintenance commitment.
Finished Result
Soft movement is part of the consultation.
A finished Genius Weft service should be evaluated in motion—not only in a still image. Look for a polished blend, believable density, fluid ends and a result that moves with the client’s natural hair.
The vertical video is designed to show those qualities without promising that every install will produce the same result. Final fullness depends on the selected product, amount, starting density, color match, cut, placement and styling.
Care & Maintenance
Protect the hair and the attachment row.
- Follow the Bohyme care directions and the maintenance plan supplied by the installing professional.
- Brush gently from the ends upward while supporting the hair near the row; do not snag beads, stitches or the seam.
- Use extension-appropriate shampoo and conditioner. Apply oils and heavy conditioning products through the mid-lengths and ends, away from attachment areas.
- Use heat protectant and conservative temperatures. Keep irons and concentrated dryer heat away from the weft and attachment row.
- Never sleep with wet extensions. Dry thoroughly and use a loose, low braid or ponytail to reduce friction.
- Schedule maintenance according to natural growth, shedding, row condition and the stylist’s service protocol—not a single universal timetable.
